Sign-in
Section titled “Sign-in”When you sign in through Patreon, we receive your Patreon account ID, email address, name and membership status so we can check which downloads you have access to. Patreon handles your membership and payments under its own privacy policy.
Sign-in uses short-lived sessions and codes, plus download credentials that last up to 30 days. The tools keep those credentials on your machine so you do not have to sign in for every download. Signing out removes them from that machine.
Download records
Section titled “Download records”Each download request is recorded with the time, the tool and version requested, the file that was served, the response status and size, and how long it took. This tells us which releases people are fetching and helps us track down failed downloads. A served file is not proof that it was installed or worked.
For signed-in downloads, the record also holds a keyed hash of your account ID so we can count how many different accounts fetched a version. We hold the key, so we can trace that hash back to your account, and we treat it as personal information. Your email, raw account ID, IP address and browser details are not written to these records.
Public Get TOX downloads are counted by product only. They are not tied to a visitor or to a later sign-in. There are no advertising cookies, no fingerprinting, and no reporting from inside a downloaded tool.
Download records never touch your TouchDesigner projects, local files, prompts, images or generated media.
Websites
Section titled “Websites”Like any website, ours receive your IP address and request headers. Our hosting providers use them to serve pages and block abuse, and keep their own operational logs. The main website stores a couple of display preferences in your browser; clearing site storage removes them. Embedded videos and fonts load from their providers under those providers’ policies.
We do not sell any of this information or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Section titled “How long we keep it”- Detailed download records: 90 days, then deleted automatically.
- Daily totals by product, version and status, with no account identifiers: kept for release comparisons.
- Sign-in credentials: expire on the schedule above.
- Email you send us: as long as needed to answer it or resolve a dispute.
Your rights
Section titled “Your rights”Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, or object to how it is used. Email licensing@dotsimulate.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity. Do not send your access token.
We can delete your account-linked download records and stop recording them for your account without affecting your downloads. Daily totals that already exist contain nothing about you and stay. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
We need your membership information to provide gated downloads. Objecting to download records does not change your access.
Legal basis and location
Section titled “Legal basis and location”Where EU or UK law applies, we process sign-in information to provide the access you asked for, and download records under our legitimate interest in delivering software reliably and understanding release uptake. We are based in the United States, and our providers may process information there and in other countries. Where required, transfers are covered by an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. Ask us if you want details.
Changes
Section titled “Changes”We update the date at the top when this notice changes, and give additional notice where required before any materially different use of personal information.
